Drink it. Think it. Make it. Win it.

See What’s Changed!

For those of you who have competed in this contest before, we have some exciting updates in the fall 2014 semester that we want to share with you.

  • There are more prizes available! We’ve structured the program so that there are prizes for creations that are under 300 cartons, and prizes for creations that are 300 or more cartons.
  • We’ve narrowed it down to only two grade levels: K-5 and 6-12. So now elementary includes kindergarteners and goes up through 5th grade. And middle school and high school will compete together: 6th grade through 12th grade.
  • Another change will come into play in the spring 2015 semester. We have a new program that we’re launching called Carton 2 Garden. So the Made By Milk program will take a semester off and will return in fall 2015. More details will be available in the coming months.
Contest Details
The Made By Milk™ contest encourages students to build strong bones with milk and flex their creative muscles by repurposing milk cartons. The winning team can earn its school up to $5,000. Just collect your school’s milk cartons and use them to create a piece of art that fits the semester’s theme

Assemble your team of students (suggestions: an art class, a home room, etc.), and determine what you’d like to build. Then gather supplies, assign tasks to students and make it!

After your students assemble their creation, snap a few photographs of the finished product (without students in the photo) and write an essay (200 or fewer words) about how your school would use the $5,000 if it won. Hint: You can earn extra points if your school plans to use award money for a green project.

You will need the photos and essay to complete the entry form.

Then your school’s sponsor uploads the entry to our website by the specified date. Sponsor must be 18 years or older.

There are two ways to win:

  • Get the most people to vote for your school’s entry to win the “People’s Choice” category
  • Impress the panel of judges

Do you know the contest rules, important dates, and how to score extra credit? Are you in Foodservice at your school? Are you a teacher with creative kids? Do you need materials to help spread the word about the contest?
